Carlene Jeanette McCord

Services for Carlene Jeanette McCord, 86, of Edgewood, are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 17, 2108, at Willow Springs Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Small Cemetery in Edgewood.  Services are under direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood.

Jeanette passed away July 14, 2018, at her home in Edgewood.

Carlene Jeanette Sims McCord was born January 12, 1932, to the late Wiley Carl Sims and Bertha Mae Clemons Sims.  She was a lifelong resident of Edgewood.  She graduated from High School and married Willie Fred Jones and they had four children, Peggy, Bill, Mike and Charles.  She later married Frank Ball and he preceded her in death.  She then married Dr. Harvey “Mac” McCord and he also preceded her in death.  Jeanette was employed with Crum and Forrester Insurance Agency in Dallas for many years.  She was also employed with Dr. Robert Gilbreth, D.D.S. for ten years and Dr. Sherbert, D.D.S. for ten years.  She was a member of Willow Springs Baptist Church. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as, her husbands, Frank Ball, and Dr. Harvey “Mac” McCord; son, Charles Jones; son-in-law, Anthony Bickel; brothers, Kenneth Sims and wife Betty, and Jake Sims; Sister-in-law, Sylvia Sims.

Jeanette is survived by her sons, Bill Jones of Edgewood, and Mike Jones and wife, Kim of Rowlett; daughter, Peggy Bickel of Edgewood; brothers, Garnell Sims of Edgewood and Billy Ray Sims and wife Loretta of Edgewood; sister-in-law, Durene Sims of Edgewood; seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Family visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm, Monday evening in Edgewood.
