Annie "Marie" Elmore

Funeral services for Annie “Marie” Elmore, 97, of Edgewood, TX, are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Monday, June 3, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Edgewood, with Pastors Jonathan Leach and Jim Ballard officiating.  Burial will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas. Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood.

Marie passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019, at her home.

Annie Marie Monday was born July 25, 1921, in Riley, TX, to parents, Samuel Earl Monday and Lillian North Monday.  She was raised in the Dallas area. Marie married R.B. Elmore in 1939, in Rockwall. She worked in Dallas making costume jewelry prior to employment with the Times Herald Newspaper, where she worked as a secretary for twenty-five years. Marie had been in the Edgewood community since 1986 and was a member of First Baptist Church. She loved listening to gospel and classical music.

She is preceded in death by parents, Samuel and Lillian Monday; husband, R.B. Elmore; daughter, Marilyn Annette Blackshear; brother, Marvin Earl Monday and sisters, Juanita Elsie Wells, Dorothy Gilmore and Billie Laurent.  

Marie is survived by her son-in-law, Jack Blackshear of Edgewood; grandsons, Tommy Tucker of Edgewood and Jimmy Tucker of Edgewood; great grandchildren, Larry Tucker, Jeffrey Tucker, Nicole Shotwell and Brandi Davis; great-great grandchildren, Logan Tucker, Amelia Shotwell and Tucker Davis, along with numerous nieces and nephews.  

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood.
