Morris Foster, Sr. Obituary

Morris Dwaine Foster, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on February 17, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Terrell, TX.

Morris was born on August 22, 1934, in Wills Point, TX, to Henry Lee Foster and Ethel Evelyn Browder Foster. He grew up in Dallas, where he graduated from Adamson High School. In service to his country, Morris proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force on December 1, 1957. During his time in the military, he met the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann Brockman, and they were married on January 6, 1962, in Dallas. Morris was honorably discharged in 1964, after which he and Elizabeth settled in Dallas.

Throughout his life, Morris was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He briefly worked for Fireman Fund Insurance and later at Sears as a key punch operator, where he retired after three decades of service. Retirement didn't slow him down; he continued his work ethic at the Forney Walmart, serving in the garden center and as a greeter for another 11 years.

Morris was a man of faith and was an active member of the Kemp Church of Christ. He found joy in attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and big family gatherings. Morris also loved simple pleasures, such as cheering on his beloved Texas Rangers, solving word searches and crossword puzzles, and playing solitaire.

Morris was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ethel Foster, his brother Donald Foster, and his sister Evelene Rich.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Foster; his loving children, Chip Foster and wife Marilyn of Dallas, TX, Patti Ann Saldana and husband Roberto of Rockwall, TX, Vickie Painter and husband Ricky of Kaufman, TX, and Karen Tucker and husband Shannon of Katy, TX; his dear sister, Merlene Miller of Lewisville, TX; his cherished grandchildren, Crystal Morrissey and husband Sean, Jonathan Ezry Johnson, Tyrone Lee Saxon, Eric Painter and wife Crystal, Shandi Nelson and husband Justin, Travis Painter and wife Danielle, Brooke Bjornson, Nichole Kalb, Brandon Kalb, Baylie Tucker, and Chloe Tucker; as well as eighteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
