Jane G. Hogg Obituary

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Jane G. Hogg, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, who passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024, at the age of 90.

Jane, born Cleo Nette Jane Gilbert on March 15, 1933, in Fouke, Arkansas, was the cherished daughter of Jesse Jefferson Gilbert and Edna Louise Porter Gilbert. Growing up in Fouke, she graduated from high school before embarking on a journey filled with love, adventure, and service.

On December 16, 1952, Jane exchanged vows with the love of her life, Roy Hogg, in Corpus Christi, TX. Together, they shared 63 years of marriage, nurturing a bond that was a beacon of strength and devotion. Jane dedicated herself to raising their family, instilling values of love, compassion, and resilience in her sons, Doug and Matthew.

Jane's career spanned 25 years with the Army Air Force Exchange, where her dedication and work ethic were evident to all who knew her. Beyond her professional life, Jane was deeply committed to her community and her faith. As a member of Brookside Baptist Church in Myrtle Springs, she found joy in serving others, exemplifying kindness and generosity in all she did.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hogg; parents, Jesse and Edna Gilbert; along with five sisters.

Jane's legacy is carried on by her sons, Doug Hogg and wife Diane of Forney, TX, and Matthew Hogg of Wills Point, TX. Her grandchildren, Jeremy Hogg, Stephen Hogg and wife Tawni, Katherine Aquino and husband Michael, and Meagan Culpepper and husband Brandon, were the pride and joy of her life. Jane’s five great-grandchildren, Angel, Bethany, and Averie Hogg and Lincoln and Penelope Jane Culpepper brought her immense happiness and laughter. In addition to her immediate family, Jane is fondly remembered by her sisters, Kay Pearce of Oberland, LA, Valentine Tyson of La Comb, LA, and Jo Ann Waldon of Alexandria, LA, along with a host of extended family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation hours from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home. Jane's legacy of love, kindness, and service will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved husband, Roy, and may her family find solace in the cherished memories they shared together.
