In Loving Memory Clifford Thorne, Sr. 9/2/1936 - 2/28/2010

Services for Clifford Thorne, Sr. are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. David Rudd officiating. Burial will follow at Bright Star Cemetery.

Clifford passed away February 27, 2010, in Henderson, TX.

Clifford Thorne, Sr. was born September 2, 1936, to the late Edward Walter Thorne and Isbell “Bell” Humphries Thorne. He was raised and graduated from high school in Lousianna. Clifford moved to Wills Point twenty-seven years ago and worked as a licensed electrician, crane operator, charter bus driver and retired from the Wills Point Independent School District as a bus driver in 2005. He married Reta Brown in July 2000. His hobbies included fishing, gardening and traveling. His greatest love was music. Clifford sang and played in many bands, and could play many different musical instruments.

Clifford is preceded in death by a step-grandson, Brett Alton Brown in 1998, and a stepson, Mark Brown; brother, Edward Walter Thorne, Jr., two sisters, Hazel Dotson and Coleen Bryant.

He is survived by his wife, Reta Brown-Thorne of Wills Point; step-son, Dennis Brown and wife, Robin of Spring; daughters, Roxann Dalene Donaghe of Victoria, Helen Molina of Montebello of California, Mary Lou Thorne of Alhambra, CA, Susan “Susie” Bergstrom of Mt. Cedar, CA; sons, Clifford Thorne, Jr., John Rodney Thorne and David Thorne, all of CA; brothers-in-law, Harrold Culp of Bremond, and Robert Culp and wife, Lillie of Harrison; sister-in-law, Janey George of Alabama; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Family visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Wednesday evening.
