In Loving Memory Cassie Deaton 7/7/1942 - 2/23/2010

Funeral services for Cassie Deaton, 67, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00pm, Saturday, February 27, 2010, at Hiett’s LyBrand Chapel in Wills Point, with Rev. Ken Hackney officiating. Burial will follow at Bright Star Cemetery.

Cassie passed away at her home on February 23, 2010.

Cassie Maurice Pinckard was born July 7, 1942, in Springhill, Louisiana to Jessie Guy and Lillie Mae Waters Pinckard. She grew and attended school in Spring Hill.

At an early age, Cassie married Posey Gene Shackleford. They made their home in the Dallas area until moving to Wills Point in 1977. She later married Billy Ray Deaton, Sr.

Cassie drove a health care van, carrying elderly patients to their doctor’s appointments. She enjoyed helping her clients and doing for others. Cassie was a member of Chapel of The Lake, where she also taught Sunday school.

Cassie is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Lillie Mae Pinckard, sisters, Mary Elaine Wooten and Billie Nell Hayward and brother, James Pinckard.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Coon of Crandall; sons, Larry Alan Shackleford of Wills Point, Billy Ray Deaton of Wills Point and Steven Ray Deaton of Gainesville; sister, Clara Cloud of Goldonna, Louisiana; grandchildren, Denise Yager and husband, Jim of Bay City, Michigan, Amy Hirth and husband, Coy of Crandall, Brian Coon of Wills Point, Alan, Sherry and Jessica Shackelford all of Wills Point and James Boyd of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Celeste and Cassandra Yager, Audrey and Hayden Hirth, and Ashlan and A.J. Shackleford.

Visitation will be Friday, 1:00-4:00pm, and Saturday, 12:00pm to service time.
