Funeral services for Jack Lake, 74, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 1:00pm, Friday, January 29, 2010, at St. Luke Catholic Church, with Father Joseph Thekkumthala officiating. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
Jack passed away January 26, 2010, in Terrell.
Jack Lewis Lake was born July 24, 1935, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, to Lewis and Bernadette Lake. He grew up in New Haven, Indiana near Ft. Wayne, and graduated from New Haven High School. Jack went on to attain a degree in Engineering and worked in the auto manufacturing industry. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. On June 18, 1957, in New Haven, Jack married Joan Schlemmer. They made their home in various states until 1978, when they moved to Garland, TX, where Jack was plant manager at Weatherhead Corporation. He served as director of operations for S & H Manufacturing in Garland and continued on as a consultant after he retired. Jack and Joan moved to Wills Point to make their home in 1995. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Wills Point.
Jack is preceded in death by his father, Lewis Lake.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Lake of Wills Point; mother, Bernadette “Bernie” Pepe of New Haven, IN; sons, Scott Lake, and wife, Kathleen of Broken Arrow, OK, and Stuart Lake and wife, Angie of Edgewood; daughter, Sara Jo Robbins of Altus, OK; brothers, Gary Lake and Dick Lake both of New Haven, IN; sisters, Joyce Smith of New Burg, IN and Shirley Robinson and husband, Stan of New Haven, IN; grandchildren, Justin Lake and Ashley Lake both of Fruitvale, Katie Lake and Ben Lake, both of Broken Arrow, OK, Josh Robbins, Adam Robbins and Chad Robbins, all of Murfreesboro, TN, Grayson Lake, Zoe Lake, Brittany Thompson and Jason Thompson, all of Edgewood; great-grandchildren, Josh Robbins, Jr. and Janie Robbins, both of Murfreesboro, TN.
Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6:00-8:00pm, at the funeral home in Wills Point.
