Ernest "Macklin" Jones

Funeral services for Ernest “Macklin” Jones, 74, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 3:00 PM, Monday, April 17, 2017, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Visitation will be held at 2:00 PM, one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Bright Star Cemetery.

Macklin passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017.

Ernest Macklin Dunavin was born on August 12, 1942, in Sulfur Springs, TX, to parents, Jackson Dunavin and Fleeda  McMinn Pressley. She was raised in Dallas and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School. Macklin worked in the office as a collector for the Medical Bureau of Dallas for 13 years. She was married and later divorced, before marrying Eddie Jones on December 16, 1995, in Wills Point. Macklin was in the Wills Point community for over 30 years. She attended the Chapel of the Lake Church near Lake Tawakoni, enjoyed her word searches and at one time had a “pig farm”.   

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Jones; son, Richard W. Bonner; daughter, Nadine Vaughn and a sister, Rose Mary Weiler.

Macklin is survived by her son, Glenn E. Rudd; sisters, Sue Gilbert and husband, Earl of The Colony, JoAnn Robinson and husband, Carey of Roxton and Margaret Ann Knox and husband, Donnie of Amarillo; brother, Tommy Pressley and wife, Evelyn of Pattonville, TX; grandchildren, Cassi Vaughn of Wills Point, Tiffany Bessette of Wills Point; great grandchildren, Dustyn and Lane and one on the way.
