Dale Carlos StranathanNovember 12, 1935 ~ October 30, 2017 (age 81)
Dale Carlos Stranathan passed on to glory on Monday, October 30, 2017, at his home in Edgewood. He was born November 12, 1935, in Akron, Ohio, youngest son of Ronald J. H. and Faye Sherrill Stranathan.
Senior Chief Stranathan graduated from McKinley High School in Canton, OH and left Florida State University to enlist in the United States Navy. A veteran of 15 years and service from Korea through combat in Viet Nam. He was a Warrant Officer and Senior Chief Petty Officer. Dale brought his Navy Electronics education into civilian life and was employed in Management by U.S. Steel & Arrow Industry. He retired in 1997 and moved to Edgewood after him and his wife, Glenda, built their retirement home, Glendale, on land once farmed by her father Luther D. Redd.
He is preceded in death by both parents and brothers Warren and Richard Stranathan.
Dale is survived by his wife Glenda Redd Stranathan, two sons and two daughters: Scott Stranathan and wife Marilyn, Kevin Stranathan, Kathy Cherry and Jill Krause, all from California; two step daughters: Sheila Stanton and Tami Fincher; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
